Product Information

Introduce junior and senior high school students to the world of microscopy with inexpensive, unbreakable microslides. Microslides consist of a strip of film with eight photomicrographs, each reproduced exactly as you would see them through a professional microscope under ideal conditions. You can supply all your students with their own microslides. A detailed text folder is included. Viewers are available separately.

For thousands of years people were warned about the dangers of breathing in the "bad" air found near swamps and waterways. Those who did not heed the warnings often became seriously ill, developing chills and fever, weakness and even death. This disease came to be known as Malaria (from the bad (mal) air). In the United States this disease has been eliminated but is still wide spread throughout the tropics and much of the temperate zone. This set introduces students to the life of cycle of this disease which it has been estimated, affects over 250 million people at any given moment.
