Everything you need to cultivate these fascinating moths, from larvae (supplied) to adult, is included in this convenient kit. Manduca sexta, a large moth with a wingspan up to 4″, makes an interesting physiology and dietary experiment subject. The larvae feed on tobacco plants and pupate in soil. The complete life cycle of the tobacco hornworm moth is 38 to 48 days; in 31 to 41 days, these second instar larvae will develop into adult moths before your eyes. The kit comes with ten larvae, food, pupation medium, netting, pupation box, cage, ruler, and culture instructions. Size of cage: 18″L x 10″W x 12″H.
