Appropriate for Grades 11-12
Explore ionic versus covalent bonding with this new kit from PASCO.
Students will use a PASPORT conductivity sensor to compare the solubility and electrical conductivity of several substances in 2 different solvents (water and ethanol). This activity can be completed in one or two 50-minute lab sessions. Full instructions are included.
Please note: this lab requires 1 sensor, plus 1 USB Link or 1 Xplorer Datalogger, for each group of students. When you want to use more than one USB Link or Xplorer (or any combination), the USB 4-Port Hub to expand your single USB to four USB ports.
