Good question! In this lab designed by teacher David Galliher, students make a simulated space shuttle from a plastic bottle. Using water displacement to measure the exact amount of hydrogen being produced, student launch their shuttles and measure the exact amount of hydrogen produced. Students observe how far the rocket travels and figure how to get the greatest thrust. Includes materials for 15 student groups and instructions. Grades 8–12.
