Product Information

Allow students to experiment with design, technology, systems, and control using real-world situations. Simulators on electronic design, PCB simulation, PIC programming and mechanisms are all addressed in one interactive software package. Realistic images of components for gears, circuits, and more are shown in a variety of easy-to-navigate menus for student creation.

Yenka Electronics, the base of the Technology Suite is set up for simulating, testing, and refining circuits using over 150 components, ranging from simple power supplies and switches, through sensors and semiconductors, to extensive sets of 4000 and 7400 series ICs. Yenka Gears is set up to help students experiment with several different types of gears, in full three-dimensional views. Using drag and drop navigation, different gears easily snap together. Click on a gear to set its diameter and number of teeth. Worm and bevel gears, rack and pinion, flywheel and a chain drive, and electromechanical components like motors, generators, and a solenoid are all included.

Build on the Yenka Electronics program with the Yenka PCB and Yenka PIC programs, also included in this suite. The Yenka PCB add-on converts the 2-D schematics created in Yenka Electronics to 3-D PCB simulations. The real-PCB design engine runs in the background, and handles automatic component placement and routing. You can open these PCB design tools to edit the PCB layout manually. When simulating the PCB, you can interact with switches or controls in either the 2-D or 3-D views; both views are simulated concurrently. To help understand how your finished product will work, you can flip or rotate the board to any angle you like as the simulation runs. Yenka PICs, also included with the suite, enables students to write, test, and refine microcontroller programs on-screen, simulating the chip and its inputs and outputs, before programming real PIC or PICAXEs directly. Its flowchart interface is easy to use. Set up microcontroller routines by linking flowchart elements together; to insert a new command, just drop it at the right place, and it snaps in automatically, with no need to delete and re-draw links.

The Yenka Technology Suite and individual programs, available separately, are delivered to you electronically. Simply download a free plug-in, which includes non-time-limited demo, then register your purchased serial number to gain access to the new areas of the software. This is designed as a site license for 1–599 students. The comprehensive package includes Yenka PCBs and PIC, in addition to Yenka Electronics and Yenka Gears.
